Guess the Movie from Dialogue questions
Can I play this on my own?
Yes. Read the line, name the film in your head, then tap Reveal movie. Open the hint first if you are stuck.
How do we play it with a room?
One person holds the phone and reads the line out loud, ideally in the actor's voice. Whoever shouts the right film first takes the line. Show the hint only when the room goes quiet.
What is the difference between Easy, Hard and Mix?
Easy lines are the ones people still quote at family dinners. Hard lines come from well-known films too, but the line itself is one only the real fans remember. Mix starts with two Easy lines, then moves to Hard, and drops back to Easy as soon as someone asks for the hint.
Why is the year shown?
It narrows the film down without giving it away. Knowing a line is from 1975 still leaves a lot of films to argue about. The hint is for when that is not enough.
Will I see the same line twice?
Not for a month on the same phone or browser. If you get through every line for your era, the game adds the other eras, then the other level, and says so on screen. Only once you have seen every line on the site do the ones you saw longest ago come back.
Is there a version I can print?
Yes. Guess the Filmi Dialogue is a printable pack with 60 lines, a host sheet and a card deck, for a party with no phones out. It is on the store page.

How to play Guess the Movie from Dialogue
One person holds the phone and reads the line out loud. Everyone else shouts the film. The year is on screen from the start; the hint stays blurred until somebody asks for it.
Read it properly. Half the fun is the voice. A flat reading of a Gabbar line is a different game from one done with the pause in the right place.
Playing alone works the same way, without the shouting. Say the film in your head, then reveal it.
Pick the era for the room. A room of cousins in their twenties and a room of their parents do not quote the same films. Tick more than one era if the room is mixed.
